BURNDEN’S SANGSTER WINS INAUGRAL BOLTON HALF
Burnden Road Runners were out in force to support the first XMiles Bolton Half Marathon and 10K, organised by Epic Events, and it was a day to be proud. The course was challenging to say the least – with hills (yes, THAT one in Queen’s Park!), twists, turns and dog legs but the support, particularly in the park, was astounding. Our England Athletics Volunteer of the Year, Cheryl Dunleavy, deserves a mention for being out dressed as a Burnden bee and supporting around the cloc

LOSTOCK AND TONS OF SMOKING TIMES
Lostock AC’s ‘6 Miles of Smiles’ race is a staple event on the Lancashire race calendar and forms part of the Central Lancashire Grand Prix. Being chosen as part of the Club Championship also promised a huge turnout and Burnden delivered. A special addition today was the inclusion of three generations of the Marland family all in one race! MEDIA STORM FOR BURNDEN PAIR
Run Media City Half Marathon, organised by Run Through, is a closed-roads event featuring two scenic laps around Salford and Eccles – starting and finishing at Media City. Two of Burnden’s finest smashed personal records on the course. First in was Francesca Caine who set a new half marathon PB in a speedy time of 1:33:36. Training for Manchester Marathon in April, Rob Moran-Hetherington showed he was on fine form as he achieved a sub 2 hour in 1:59:33. TROTTERS EDGES CLOSER

TRAIN WITH Burnden
MONDAY
We meet at Smithills Sports Centre every Monday evening (except Bank Holidays) We have a variety of sessions each week from effort sessions, muster runs, trail runs and Beginner groups

TUESDAY
Free Community Track session, with focus on the session being open to anybody in the community. The sessions are for all abilities and everyone is supported.

WEDNESDAY
Our popular 1 foot on the track at Leverhulme Park is a well established and organised track session, perfect if you are focusing on a personal running target.
