FESTIVAL TIME FOR MARLANDS

With a mix of closed roads, live entertainment and fancy bling, the Wigan Running Festival is a popular choice and raises thousands of pounds for the Joining Jack charity.

A soggy day saw the Marland family attend the Festival at Mesnes Park along with over 1,000 runners. Ally and Simon took on the Half Marathon distance while Sue opted for the 5K. Ally finished just ahead of dad, Simon, in 1:42:07, Simon crossed in 1:43:05 and Sue completed the 5K in 32:32.

JUSTIN’S ROBIN HOOD ADVENTURE

In the midst of Sherwood Forest, an arrow was in full flight as Justin Bones joined the Merry Men and Women to take on the Sherwood Pines Running Festival. Offering distances for all, the race gives runners the thrill of racing through Sherwood Forest’s iconic canopy.

Justin took on the big one and finished 20 miles in a very merry 3:42:21.
