After the quiet lull following New Year’s Day, Burnden Road Runners are back with a bang. A host of awards were given to members to celebrate their achievements in 2025 with a special presentation evening held at Little Lever Cricket Club. The Burnden Cross Country team were out two weekends in a row and represented over in Runcorn for the Sunday League and at Heaton Park in the South East Lancs League. Six runners made the trip over to Runcorn’s Town Park, an undulating and muddy home to the infamous Ski Slope Hill, which makes for a fantastic course alongside a well-supported and organised race. The final day of 2025 saw Burnden revellers celebrating the New Year early with Trail Blazing Events and the Trails and Ales 10K, which finishes with a pie, a pint and a party. Before the clock struck midnight on a freezing Bolton, the sounds of a bag piper could be heard as runners set off to tackle the Horwich trails.
