Race report 11th April 2026


Another busy week for Burnden with our runners taking on Rivington Pike Fell Race on Saturday 4th April and then a Burnden Quartet taking on Darwen Half Marathon on Sunday 5th April.


Pike Fell Race


A lot of perseverance was required to tackle the Pike, with Storm Dave biting at their feet.


Not a problem for 32 of our Burnden runners, with times ranging from 24:38 to 49:01 to get to that blustery finish line.

Darwen Half Marathon

On Sunday 5th April, our Burnden quartet ran in style without even a thought of Easter Eggs hot crossing their minds.


Andy Dunleavy crossed the line in position 37 and time of 01:44:43,


Alistair Marland closely following in position 52 and time of 01:51:57, Justin Bones followed in position 135 and time of 02:34:47 and finally Cheryl Dunleavy, our very own Burnden cheer captain came in at position 144 finishing in 02:52:40.
