BURNDEN SUPPORT AT TATTON PARK

ree

Race for Life was supported by two of our members this week as Justin Bones and Andy Norman both put on the flags at Tatton Park in Knutsford.

The beautiful and enchanting Cheshire park was the backdrop for an inspirational day where runners raced to fundraise for the fight against cancer.

Both Justin and Andy crossed the line in their exact pacer target times – Andy in 50 minutes and Justin in 1:10. Tall Andy did mention the struggle between the Tatton trees and his pacer flag but he still smashed it!

CHELSEA’S BEYOND THE TRAILS

Chelsea Entwistle has a goal in mind for September – the 30 mile Blackpool to Lancaster Ultra – and her training is well underway to smash the distance as she hit the halfway point in miles this week. The 25Km Beyond Trails Manchester leads competitors away from the pavements and is an adventure beyond the city.

Starting in Castlefield, the route travels to the Manchester Ship Canal, through Salford Quays and past the BBC buildings. Crossing from the Manchester to the Bridgewater Canal, runners see the Imperial War Museum and Old Trafford before winding through Eccles, meeting the River Irwell and finishing in the City Centre.

Chelsea finished the distance in a respectable 3:20:00.

PARKRUN PB FOR QUINN

Special parkrun mention for Jake Quinn this week as he chopped over a minute from his Bolton PB – taking it from 23:15 to a terrific 22:22.
