A race reported to be brilliant, if not undulating and lumpy.

A club championship race and a prize of cheese, what a day on 10th May.

On Sunday 10th May, several Burnden runners made their way over to Longridge to complete BlackSticks 10k race. A great hilly race with fabulous views and brilliant volunteers along the way.

Instead of a medal, a packaged slice of blue cheese was provided to runners.

Parkrun Tourism

Sue and Simon Marland have managed to attend an inaugural parkrun No. 1 event, at Drumlanrig Castle parkrun that started on May 9th, 2026.

It is described as, a beautiful one lap through the woodland and trails of the grounds, plus an out and back in front of the castle to finish.

This is very much a recommended trip up to Scotland to complete this one.

Simon finished in 25.00 and Sue finished in 35.18
