EXCELLENT XC CHAMPS
The Burnden Cross Country team were out two weekends in a row and represented over in Runcorn for the Sunday League and at Heaton Park in the South East Lancs League. Six runners made the trip over to Runcorn’s Town Park, an undulating and muddy home to the infamous Ski Slope Hill, which makes for a fantastic course alongside a well-supported and organised race. HORSMAN PULLS IN THE NEW YEAR
The final day of 2025 saw Burnden revellers celebrating the New Year early with Trail Blazing Events and the Trails and Ales 10K, which finishes with a pie, a pint and a party. Before the clock struck midnight on a freezing Bolton, the sounds of a bag piper could be heard as runners set off to tackle the Horwich trails. WE WISH IT COULD BE PARKRUN EVERY DAY!
Christmas Day for runners starts with Christmas Parkrun! Perfect for making room for that big meal, 9am on the 25th December brought freezing weather and festive cheer to Leverhulme Park. A total of 35 Burndeners donned their Santa hats, elf ears and more to run the 5K course with 185 others. Mark Whittington was first in and fifth overall with 20:25 followed by Andy Norman in 23:55 and Stephen Horsman in 24:31. First Burnden lady home was Vicki Hamer in 25:24 followed by Ann
