Fareham Running Club’s Sarah Don started the great initiative last year of inviting all running clubs to hold a Food Bank Run. The idea is simple, as all the best ones are. Running Club members bring a donation of non-perishable food to a nominated training night and the food is collected and donated to a local food bank. It is a great opportunity for members to turn their love of running into making a difference in the community and to help those in need.
Gareth Doherty and Mark Whittington organised Burnden’s offering during a week of training nights and there was a great response from members as they brought lots of items to the start line. Donations have been taken to Farnworth and Kearsley Food Bank – thank you everyone!
