Completed by Suzi Walmsley (triathlon report by Mike Caine)

Starting in chronological order, our first running jaunt of the week was Paul Duke, who did Foe Edge Fell Race in 42:42. He was the only Burnden runner running finishing in 44th place, whilst enjoying the pleasant views.
Moving on to May Day, Erin Marsh got a new PB of 22:47 at Media City’s 5k run and was proud as punch and rightly so.
Gwen’s weekend of events and achievements
Gwen Kinlock ran in the European Masters Championship 10k in Catania, Sicily on May 1st. Gwen finished 3rd in LV65 with a time of 44.16, this is fourth fastest time by a UK runner in her category this year.
There is no stopping Gwen on this fabulous bank holiday weekend, where Gwen also completed the half marathon for European Masters Championship, finishing 2nd in LV65 category with time of 1:40:41 and getting a silver medal. She then also won a gold medal as GB team came in first place. Gwen was also 7th fastest LV65 of this year, and in the heat too.
This was a very hot race both in temperature and achievements. What a superstar Gwen.

Justin Bones, who states he is now broken, completed the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge 109k on May 2nd with a finish time of 18:19:53. A trooper all the way, who I am sure we will see running very soon.

On May 2nd, we saw a collection of Burnden runners give Chorley 10k a go.

Paula just keeps those accolades coming. On May 3rd, Paula and another burnden runner Susan Sumner did Worsley Woods Ladies Trail, in which Paula came 5th lady.

Report provided by Mike Caine re Horwich Triathlon
The Horwich Triathlon, widely known as the “Kona of the North,” delivered a challenging and memorable race that tested athletes across every discipline. Competitors tackled a 500m pool swim before heading out onto a tough 40k, undulating bike course through Belmont and Chorley.
The 8.6k run course proved equally relentless with a race to the Pike and back, pushing athletes to dig deep in the final stages of the race. Despite the difficulty and challenging weather conditions, performances across the field were commendable.
This year the event also expanded out into multiple options such as a Sprint Distance Triathlon, Aquathon, Duathlon, Aquabike and pure running races.
