Burnden Race Report - 10th August 2026

On Saturday 1st August, Kirsty and Lee White took part in the Scouts Honour Backyard Ultra on Saturday. This is a race, where runners complete a 4.167 mile loop on the hour, every hour, until only one person is left standing. Lee completed 7 loops (29.2 miles) and Kirsty managed 9 loops (37.5 miles).

Michael Kermode has had a run of fantastic achievements on both July 28th and August 4th. It is noted that these are not official race results, however he managed to run 400m in 1 minute 8 Seconds on 4th August and he managed to run a flat-out mile in 5:32.

On Sat 8th August, Ian Mann did the Tatton Park 10k, official time 01:28:19. Ian described this to have beautiful scenery and very hot. However, on his own personal challenge of completing a 10k race a month challenge, his August 10k was ticked off.

Also on Saturday 8th August, Tony Fulup headed to Sheffield for the British Transplant Games, and this was after visiting Europe previously in the year. Tony advises that he did not make the podium, however he came 4th in a tougher age group 60-69, his time was 35:37, 3-mile road race.

Parkrun milestones

Paula Pilling on Saturday 8th August ran the Old Railway Line Llangollen parkrun finishing with a time of 21:06. Paula finished 5th overall, 1st Lady and a PB for that course. Nicola Halsall managed a fabulous PB at Bolton, this was after 10 years! Nicola finished with a time of 28:08.

Phillip Glassbrook also got a PB of 00:44:40.
