Volunteers
Burnden Road Runners are always in need of volunteers for our events and also support other events in the community, below you will find details on all the volunteering opportunities in the coming year.
The race director team are busy behind the scenes, planning upcoming race and events, and planning how the club can support local community events along side our annual Trotters race.
With that in mind, we are looking for volunteers to help with the events below.
The Race Director team are looking for volunteers to support the Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon. This is a small, friendly event, based in Rivington, that Burnden supported last year and which we are now fully responsible for.
The Race Director team is looking for around 20 marshals to support the event and ensure the course is safe for runners and cyclists. Marshals will be allocated, in pairs, on either the run or cycle route. We also need either one or two tail runners for the run course.
The event consists of a 5k run through the forest and paths close to lower Rivington Barn and reservoir, followed by a 3 lap cycle route and ending in a repeat of the 5k run.
If you would like to help us, please fill in the google form, indicating which of the two routes you would like to be allocated to, and, if you have someone you would like to marshal with, please indicate who this is.
We will try our best to place you where you have requested to be.
There will be refreshments available at race HQ - all marshals get a free hot sandwich and drink!

Ironman 70.3
Our Events Team are working with the Bolton Ironman 70.3 Events Team to assist with the registration leading up to the event.
We are looking for volunteers to help with registration on Thursday 4th June and Friday 5th June at Bolton Town Hall.
Assistance required for the following:
Thursday 4th June - 2:15pm - 7:00pm
Friday 5th June - 8:15am - 2:15pm
Friday 5th June - 2:00pm - 6pm
