In 2024 The Trotters 5 Mile Community Trail race will be starting at Smithills Sports Centre, no all off road other than a small road crossing near Smithills Farm.
5 Miles starting on the grass at Smithills Sports Centre, running into the ground of the historic Smithills Hall, then running out past Smithills Farm and out into the trails around Smithills Country Park.
