The next virtual event is the August Trotters Half - just run or walk one lap of the Trotters 5 course, a link for the route can be found here

The New Beginners group will soon be starting their new 12 week program and are inviting anyone who is looking to take up running to join them, the latest group are soon to complete their program which has seen many new members take part in events for the club.

The group is ran by volunteers who are all members of the club, Jen Forkin and Shirley Robinson both themselves joined the club by attending the New Beginners group and are now passing on their experience of joining a club which can be a daunting experience, however it doesn't need to be and they are there to help you start out on your journey into a great hobby.

Joining the team when the sessions start up again on Monday 16th August is Vicki Hamer, Vicki is currently the ladies team captain and along with Jen and Shirley can offer a lot of experience in the benefits of running. 

The Beginners group is open to anyone who is new to running, looking to return to running or returning to running from injury, sessions will soon be announced via Run Together, we ask everyone to book on a session using the runtogether app or visiting the website www.runtogether.co.uk, information on how to book on a session can be found on out home page.

This year has seen already a large number of runners joining the New Beginners group, with members taking part in their first parkrun when it returned in July and also taking part in other racing events which was a first for many of the new runners.

Pictured below are some of our new members taking part in the Race the train event and Sale 5k pictured alongside other members, as you can see you will be most welcome to join our team, we all support each other and Jen, Shirley and Vicki will ensure you are fully supported.


 

 

Well done to all Burnden members who helped with the Ironman Bolton event on Sunday through some appalling weather.

Thanks to Andy for organising the lap band station so efficiently and for being present through the whole 12 hours of the event!

Fell Championship Champions Ferguson and Nolan

Congratulations to Anne Ferguson and Steve Nolan, winners of the 2021 Fell Championship! 33 members did at least one fell race but only 4 did enough races to count in the Championship. Burnden will run an Off-Road championship next year which will have a…
