Each week we will usually have three training sessions on offer, this always depends on the availability of our volunteer leaders.

If you don't fancy one of the sessions on offer then a self led run is another option, leaders Tony and Louise Wall has provided a planned route each week which will be on the Burnden home page, a list of the self led route can be found here along with other favourite running routes.

The Burnden home page is updated weekly with the latest training plan for each Monday night, always check the homepage or Burnden Facebook each Monday for any alterations.


Training sessions at Burnden aim to support you in your running by offering a variety of activities each week that will meet your needs, whether you are…

• training for a specific race in the club championship

• seeking a less intensive session, as you recover from a race the day before

• seeking a specific type of session, e.g. hill training or interval training

• new to running

• wanting to build up to a certain distance/achieve a certain pace per mile

• returning to running after an injury

Sessions are available each Monday at 7pm at Smithills Sports Centre (except Bank Holidays), The Beginners Group for those who are new to running or returning to running after injury also meet at 7pm. 

There is also a Track session on Weds @ Leverhulme Park at 7pm. All runners welcome. (Adult track session £3.70, Adult Annual Track pass £44.10).
