TRAINING UPDATE

Training returned on Saturday 24th October 2020, we are now meeting on Saturday mornings at Moss Bank Park at 9am.

We will be making use of the grassy area of Moss Bank Park next to Barrow Bridge Road.

We will be asking members to register for each training session using the England Athletics Run Together app, it is important you book onto the sessions using Run Together and not just turn up as we will be using Run Together to comply with Track and Trace and to manage attendee numbers.

 


Let us know where and when you’re training - we’re all looking for safe and interesting locations – and how you get on - are you working alone, with your other half or your bubble of buddies?  Let’s share our experiences and motivate each other.

We usually meet on a Monday evening at 7pm at Smithills Sports Centre and at Leverhulme Park on a Wednesday evening for 1 four on the track, however due to the current pandemic, training is on hold at the moment. Below are details on what we usually have on offer.


There is also a Track session on Weds @ Leverhulme Park at 7pm. All runners welcome.

ABOUT TRAINING

Training sessions at Burnden aim to support you in your running by offering a variety of activities each week that will meet your needs, whether you are…

• training for a specific race in the club championship

• seeking a less intensive session, as you recover from a race the day before

• seeking a specific type of session, e.g. hill training or interval training

• new to running

• wanting to build up to a certain distance/achieve a certain pace per mile

• returning to running after an injury

Sessions are available each Monday at 7pm at Smithills Sports Centre (except Bank Holidays), The Beginners Group for those who are new to running or returning to running after injury also meet at 7pm. 

Due to current restrictions our training sessions are being held at 9am on Saturday mornings, check out the training page for the latest sessions.
