TRAINING

ENGLISH ATHLETICS TRAINING SESSIONS - Monday 1st OCTOBER 2018

Was planned this Monday 24th September - please note now postponed until 1st October - Gwen will now lead a hills session on Monday 24th September.

Adrian Webb will be coaching his final session with Burnden on 1st October ( postponed from 24/09), if you haven't been to the first two sessions then don't miss out and come along to the final session.


Coach Gwen Kinloch has secured for the club three training sessions from English Athletics. Each session will be 90 minutes and we will be meeting at the usual time at 7pm at Smithills Sports Centre.

Session 1 - Took place on Monday 13th August 2018 -  Adrian Webb held a great intervals session.

Session 2 - Took place on Monday 3rd September 2018  - Adrian led a hill session at Moss Bank Park.

Session 3 - Monday 1st October 2018 - Adrian Webb coaching session - intervals session at Barrow Bridge

There will be an opportunity for running related questions and answers at the end of the session.

Everyone is welcome and I hope as many members will come along at support the sessions

ABOUT TRAINING

Training sessions at Burnden aim to support you in your running by offering a variety of activities each week that will meet your needs, whether you are…

• training for a specific race in the club championship

• seeking a less intensive session, as you recover from a race the day before

• seeking a specific type of session, e.g. hill training or interval training

• new to running

• wanting to build up to a certain distance/achieve a certain pace per mile

• returning to running after an injury

Sessions are available each Monday at 7pm at Smithills Sports Centre (except Bank Holidays), The New Starters Group for those who are new to running or returning to running after injury also meet at 7pm. 


There is also a Track session on Weds @ Leverhulme Park at 7pm. All runners welcome. (Adult track session £3.70, Adult Annual Track pass £44.10).
