TWO LADS FELL RACE

BURNDEN picked up two first places at the Two Lads Fell Race.
Steve Nolan was 1st M55 and 16th overall in 38min 8secs while Paula Pilling came 2nd in the women’s race and 1st F40 in 41:42.
Marcus Taylor was 3rd M45 in 39:08 and Sally Cottrill 2nd F50 in 58:23.
Ged Turner (46:55) and Mark Butler (47:02) completed the club representation.

BRITISH 5K ROAD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Four members challenged the best in the country at the British 5K Road Championships, part of the Horwich Festival of Racing. Steve Nolan was the first to finish in a time of 18:20, followed by Gwen Kinloch in 20:31.
Mel Walker was 3rd M75 in 23:38 and Andy Warburton crossed the line in 23:45.

HORWICH FESTIVAL OF RACING
David Broadhurst took part in the Liverpool Castle 5K and came home in a time of 23:26.
We are still awaiting results of the Open 5K event and the Pigeon Tower Fell Race which were also part of the festival, although in the fell race – a challenging 5-mile course with 1200 feet of ascent including two climbs up to the Pike – we know that Andy Staveley finished 8th overall and 1st V55, but his time is yet to be confirmed. David Morrison also took on the Pigeon Tower race.

FATHERS DAY 10K


Sarah Woodiwiss was 1st F45 at the Father’s Day 10K in Lancaster crossing the finish line in 53:24. Adrian Ashburn and Tony Woodiwiss finished together in 47:46.

TOUR OF TAMESIDE
The multi-event Tour of Tameside saw Dawn Evans compete every day. She covered the 10K on the first day in 1:19:22, and followed that up with 1:21:27 on the aptly-named Hell on the Fell on Day 2, before posting 2:58:55 for the Hero Half Marathon and 1:26:46 for the Hyde 7.
Jackie Oakes registered a PB on the Hero Half with a time of 1:46:50. Also in the same event, David Newman was 3rd M60 in 1:51:16 and Bill Kelly finished in 3:16:35.
Debra Hennessey too ran the Hyde 7 and crossed the line in 1:14:37.

WIRRAL WAY HALF MARATHON
Pete Whiteside travelled to the Wirral Way Half Marathon and posted a time of 2:59:50.

CRAZY COW 10K


Kerry Stevenson completed the Crazy Cow 10K in 55:42 ahead of Tracey Lowe who registered 57:59, while Denise Hodgkinson ran the Colshaw 10K in 54:15.

7K MUDDY MANIACS
Louise Fox took part in the 7K Muddy Maniacs event at Blackburn. Awaiting results from the organisers.

HORWICH CLUB TRIATHLON
Marcus Taylor tackled the Horwich Club Challenge triathlon, completing the three disciplines in 58:24. He finished the 400m swim in 9:27 before taking 30:25 to cover the 16k, bike course and 18:33 for the 5K run.

NHS TRIATHLON
Ann Hardman took part in the NHS Triathlon, part of the same event over the same distances, and finished in 1:33:54. She was out of the pool in 16:15, and took 40:08 to complete the bike section before running the 5K in 37:32.
