Parkrun

PARKRUN EVENT #154 22/02/2014

No club or Grand Prix runs this weekend so we were back to normal at this week’s Parkrun with 26 Burnden runners competing and a total of 3 PB’s. Louise Wall (32:19), back after a week’s break, took 45 seconds off her previous best from a fortnight ago. Susan Wood (29:24) got back into her PB stride, recording her fifth personal best in her last six Parkruns. This was Susan’s 10th PB in her 15 runs at Leverhulme. Mark Butler (22:43) recorded his third PB from his five 2014 Parkruns by cutting 20 seconds off his January time. If Mark’s wife Ann was a member of Burnden I could inform you that today she recorded her fifth PB in 2014. However, as she isn’t, I can’t. Also we would like to offer a big Burnden welcome to Edward Orlinski who made his Parkrun debut today.

PARKRUN EVENT #153 15/02/2014

Only 10 Burnden runners managed the Parkrun today with a Club Championship race at Boggart Hole in the afternoon. Only 10 PB’s in total today and none of them for Burnden, perhaps not unexpectedly considering the conditions. Burnden have now run 2980 times at Leverhulme, or 14900 kilometres. This is equivalent to flying out to Kingston, Jamaica and unfortunately returning home.

PARKRUN EVENT #152 08/02/2014

23 Burnden runners (one is also a fell pony, aren’t they Ian) this week and 2 PB’s. Louise Wall (33:04) took 27 seconds off her December’s previous best, while Louisa Mann (33:36) cut 13 seconds off her best time which she set last November. It was great to see Clair Marland back running at the Parkrun after her brief, childbearing, break. The only way is up now, Claire. Also a big Burnden greeting to first timer Aaron Kelly, who after a few Monday training runs will soon be PB-ing his way onto these reports. Next week there is an afternoon cross-country race on Saturday afternoon, so we will see if that affects the number of runners from our club.
