New Men's Captain Marcus Chester.

Hi all.
I hope that you are all keeping well and enjoying the physical and mental health benefits that running brings. I know I am.

I’m also missing the thrill of racing though. It’s good to put yourself on the line and this aspect of running is one that I’m missing even more as time goes on. A good compromise is the EA 30 Minute Challenge. I’ve just completed my first one and seeing my name appear on a list of results is a welcome sight.

It’s free and easy to enter. Once you’re in you simply run for 30 minutes on a course of your choice on a Saturday or Sunday (as long as it’s not all downhill!) A few clicks later and your Strava or Garmin file is uploaded to the results, and hey presto, you’ve ‘raced’!

Nothing beats the real thing! But I think we all know that the days and evenings when we can all get together to race/run/jog/walk/support are probably a while off yet. The great thing about this is that, like parkrun, you can come back to it as and when it fits in with your plans.

You’ve nothing to lose. Let’s get some more Burnden Road Runners on the weekly results.

Take care and see you all soon.
