BURNDEN produced a blanket finish to dominate the men’s race at the Swinton 5.25-mile Central Lancs Grand Prix event.
Marcus Taylor was the first Burndener home, finishing 8th overall and 1st V45 in 31min 47secs, followed seven seconds later by Lee White, in 9th place and 2nd V45 in 31:54.
There were also only seven seconds between him finishing and Steve Nolan crossing the line in 10th place and 1st V55 in 32:01. Pete Hopley was 11th overall and 1st V50 just three seconds behind him in 32:04.
Robert Short in 15th place with 33:14 and Ed Ashton, 20th and 3rd V55 in 33:43 ensured Burnden had six in the Top 20 finishers.
Age group victories followed, with Gwen Kinloch 1st F55 in 35:35, Keith Thomas 1st V60 in 36:18 and Anne Ferguson 1st F60 in 38:08.
Elaine Roper was 2nd F55 in 43:02 and Mumtaz Patel was 2nd F45 in 38:25.

Five members tackled the City of Preston 10K with Paul Drew first to finish in 51:11.
Emma Walker was next in 55:20, followed by Louise Fox in 55:56, Sharon Drew in 1:03:57 and Debra Hennessey in 1:03:58.

Mark Butler and John Hall celebrated with the legendary Ron Hill at his 80th Birthday 5K in Whitworth. Mark posted a time of 22:45 with John crossing the line in 31:27,
